Big Cats and Wine Tasting

Experience an exhilarating day of Wine Tasting, Eagle and Owl Encounters,Vultures & many more wild birds. Visit a “BIG CAT” sanctuary and see White Lions,Tigers, Caracals and Leopards. Watch a duck parade at Vergenoegd Wine Estate where you will also enjoy a wine tasting. You will get to see over 1000 Indian Runner Ducks parade past you as you sip your wine, whilst they waddle off to work in the vineyards for the day to eat the snails and slugs off the vines! We then drive to Spier Wine Estate for Wine & Chocolate Pairing. Inspired by their Spier Signature Méthode Cap Classique and their Spier Creative Block blends, the chocolatier has carefully crafted chocolates that complement and unlock nuanced flavours in each of these liquid treasures.
Take a walk through the Wild Bird Sanctuary at Spier and enjoy the different species of owls, hawks, eagles, vultures & many more birds of prey. Hold a Black African Eagle or even a huge Python snake. Vredenheim Wine Estate is where we will have encounters with Big Cats and watch them being fed.

We dine at Delheim Wine Estate for lunch.

German gemütlichkeit is the order of the day in the Garden Restaurant, situated in a stunning setting. On clear days guests have a beautiful view across to Table Mountain in the distance. The restaurant offers a selection of dishes ranging from cheese platters to traditional German and South African food. Eat al fresco on the garden terraces in summer, or cosy up in the ‘Downstairs’ cellar in winter. After lunch, we roll down the hill to Muratie Wine Cellar for chocolate and port tasting or another wine tasting – your choice!

“It’s the smooth bouquet that counts – drink Muratie wines made from the finest grapes, ripened in the South African sun. Every drop in your glass is full of flavour and strength, it gladdens the heart and loosens the tongue. It is the strength of a pure wine that enables you to face care and trouble with a lighter heart and so quickly dissipate that feeling of depression. In this manner it incidentally fortifies the body against infections and disease.”
